Open daily year round—please call ahead for seasonal hours and group tours. Black Star Farms Old Mission is an extension of the Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay. We specialize in serving wines made from 85% of grapes or other fruit grown on the peninsula—giving you a truly local experience! Our winery produces varietal wines of high character, acidity, and balance. Fruit is sourced from both our own vineyards and local grower partners. This diversity allows us to obtain consistent quality across vintages. Our wines reflect this care from the premium Arcturos, and Leorie Vineyard varietals to our sparkling, fruit, and ice wine. Black Star Farms, 800 Cottage View Dr., Suite 35, Traverse City, MI 49686, Phone: (231) 944-1349, Tastes of Black Star Farms, our new tasting room/bistro, is housed in one of the country’s most innovative and largest re-development projects in the Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City. Located in the Mercato section of Building 50, Tastes offers a unique twist on wine tasting. Open Tuesday – Saturday from 2 pm to 9 pm the tasting bar offers five samples from the full range of Black Star wines. For an extra charge, reserve wines and spirits are available for tasting. After 5 pm customers are invited to indulge in artisanal food and wine pairings starting at $8. Small plates include savory appetizers and sweet desserts. Tastes is also available for private events and small parties by calling Kristin at the reservation number.

This winery crafts small amounts of its dry and semi-sweet table wines, and features them in a fascinating tasting room. During the holidays, visitors can purchase not only wine, but Christmas trees and chestnuts, as well.

Located just off M-37 on Old Mission Peninsula, nine miles north of Traverse City. The Stegenga family operates a cozy, informative, and friendly tasting room where visitors can sample and purchase premium Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio wines, as well as several fruit wines. We have a relaxed atmosphere giving you time to chat with the owners or staff, taste our wines, take a stroll through the vineyard, or enjoy a few minutes on the patio overlooking Bowers Harbor.

The vineyard consists of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Brys Estate wines are fully Estate grown and bottled. Using the highest quality standards, we hand pick our grapes and handcraft our wines. Attention is given to every detail as we crush, ferment, age and bottle our wines exclusively on our premises. We are the only winery in the area currently meeting the highest standard of 100% Old Mission Appellation. Visitors will delight in winding past the 1890's renovated farmhouse, barn turned guest cottage, pump house turned playhouse, gardens and vineyards as they make their way to the state-of-the-art winery. Carrousel Winery offers a unique opportunity for the wine enthusiast to sample a wide variety of wines from around the world. You can even make your own wine and get involved in the process for gift giving or personal enjoyment. You can create your own custom label. Phone for an appointment to use winery personal and equipment. The process takes about one hour and in six to eight weeks, return for the final bottling. We will monitor the wine in climate controlled facilities throughout the six to eight weeks. Come, learn, enjoy and experience wine.

Chateau de Leelanau is on the front end of a fast growing wine industry in Michigan on the Leelanau Peninsula. Owner & cardiologist Roberta Kurtz, began the vineyard & winery out of a special love for Michigan agriculture. The vineyard and winery was founded in 1990 in Suttons Bay, Michigan, just north of Traverse City. As a cardiologist, Roberta knows about the benefits of wine for the heart. We specialize in European vinifera and hybrid grapes, several of which are rich in anti-oxidants. Veteran winemakers John Fletcher and Vera Klokocka combine their craft with a love for the vines, a desire to let the grapes speak for themselves, and a passion for expressing over a dozen styles of wines for you to enjoy. Their experience in cold-climate varietals is reflected in numerous award-winning vintages. Our wines have been recognized for their quality, freshness and complex allure with a continuing series of awards since the first vintage in 1999. Chateau Fontaine, 2290 South French Road, Lake Leelanau, MI 49653, Phone: (231) 256-0000. Chateau Fontaine is located in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula just south of Leland and Lake Leelanau. Originally a French-homesteaded potato farm, it is now home to 27 acres of grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Auxorrais, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. Meticulously cared for by our son, Doug, and crew, the vineyards produce consistently award-winning wines. We look forward to serving you at the tasting room. The vineyard sits in panoramic view of Grand Traverse Bay and the rolling hills of the Leelanau Peninsula. Pinot Grigio, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Franc, Dolcetto, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir embrace the landscape. Our tasting room is open to the public during normal business hours listed on our web site. There is no charge for tasting. If you are bringing a group of 12 or more for wine tasting, it's appreciated if you call ahead to make sure we have enough staff to accommodate your group.

Forty-Five North Vineyard & Winery, 8580 E. Horn Road, Lake Leelanau, MI 49653, Phone: (231) 271-1188. Winter in Michigan is a special event, those of us who have experienced it form a common bond with fellow winterites. Pristine knee deep white snow, cerulean blue skies, and air that is inhaled slowly to assure a non-heart stopping shock, are remembrances of winter at its best. Three generations of Grossnickles, grandfather, father, and son, and best friend, visited the winery under these exact conditions. We tasted the still young wines that Shawn and David have perfected, and I must say they are spectacular. Was it the weather, the familial brotherhood, or just the wine influencing our prejudicial tasting? We all agreed, it was the wine. We tasted from the driest to the sweetest, Pinot Gris to late harvest Vignole, and in the end all saluted Shawn, the winemaker and our cellarmaster, David Hill for their efforts. They showed us all how to tap the 1500 gallon tanks, a mistake on their part, and we all being quick studies, made the best of the new found knowledge. He had to help us, however siphon sample directly from the French Oak barrel aged Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. Prejudiced, yes, but yummy and spectacular are the adjectives we all used.

Welcome to Gill's Pier Vineyard & Winery located on the scenic Leelanau Peninsula, just 4 miles North of Leland on M-22. We feature award winning wines including Semi-Dry Riesling, Merlot, Apple, Cherry and Pinot Gris (coming soon!). We are open daily from May through October and on Saturdays, November through April. Good Harbor Vineyards, 34 South Manitou Trail, Lake Leelanau, MI 49653, Phone: (231) 256-7165. Produces many of Michigan's finest wines and champagnes. We offer free tours and tastings from May to November. We are located adjacent to the Manitou Farm Market, close to Sleeping Bear National Park and the Historic Fishtown area in Leland.

L. Mawby Vineyards, 4519 South Elm Valley Rd., Suttons Bay, Michigan 49682, Phone: (231) 271-3522. Our tasting room is open year-round, with varying hours each season. November through April - Saturday - Noon to 5 pm. May - Thursday through Sunday - Noon to 6 pm. June through August - Daily - Noon to 6 pm. September and October - Thursday through Sunday - Noon to 6 pm. Visits at other times are available by appointment. Some of the wines we produce are available for sale only in our tasting room and here on the web, notably Sandpiper. We always offer at least two wines for tasting free of charge, and feature paid tasting flights of two or three sparkling wines accompanied with cheese or pate and crackers, for a cost of between $5 and $7, depending upon the number of wines. Our first vines were planted in the spring of 1973, and have been increased with later plantings. Today our vineyards cover about 18 acres and include the vinifera varieties pinot noir, pinot gris, chardonnay, and pinot meunier and the direct producer varieties vignoles, seyval and regent. We have been producing wines here since 1978, and the emphasis is on sparkling wines, both methode champenoise and cuve close. Our current annual production is about 8,000 cases, and the winemaking style remains pure -- small lots made with minimal handling. We are certainly one of a very few producers in North America who make sparkling wine their main focus.

Left Foot Charley is a relatively new winery in the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. Owner/winemaker Bryan Ulbrich has spent the last decade feeding an obsession around Northern Michigan's fantastic white wines. In that time he has crafted some of the most acclaimed wines East of that other Left Coast - you know they call it Cali-something- they grow great avocados there. Anyway...in 2004, he helped rejuvenate a friend's struggling Riesling vineyard and created 200 cases of his first wine under the LFC label. He and his wife Jennifer are in the midst of creating Northern Michigan's first urban winery in the center of the historic Northern Michigan Asylum now known as The Village. Ulbrich is quietly gathering the region's top small vineyards and will showcase them in the new facility. Left Foot Charley = Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Gewurztraminer from Northern Michigan's finest vineyards. Why are we focusing on Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Gewurztraminer? Because they thrive in Northern Michigan. We are working with the area's most significant small vineyards, ranging in size from 1-6 acres. We believe that this quartet of grapes exemplify why Northern Michigan is a world class wine growing region.

The area's newest winery features an intense Cabernet Franc, a unique Cayuga Ice Wine, Riesling, Pino Gris and a delicious Rustic White. The new kid on the Leelanau Peninsula vineyard block is winning medals for its wines. Adjacent to their tasting room is the Cedar Rustic Inn where chef Ackley serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a dining room decorated with sculptor that Linda Eaker made.

Nestled in the heart of the Upper Peninsula, our Winery in Manistique offers a unique marina setting, offering breathtaking views of unspoiled beach’s. Our grapes are harvested from around the state of Michigan and transported to our winery. Owner and winemaker, Raffael Stabile draws upon old world techniques gained from his Italian immigrant heritage and utilizes state of the art expertise in fashioning exquisite fruit forward wines. Mackinaw Trail produces a wide variety of award winning grape and fruit wines. We are open Monday - Saturday from 10am to 8pm and Sundays from noon to 5pm.

Black River Road in Cheboygan, Michigan, is open daily 1P - 6P and hosts a wine tasting table. Tours are welcome and include both the vineyard and the winemaking room as well as the gift shop and winetasting table.

All wines are made from locally grown fruit, with over 90% of the fruit grown on the Old Mission Peninsula.

Built in the summer of 1999, we opened our doors in November of the same year in Suttons Bay. We offer Bordeaux varietal red wines that include Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as whites wines such as Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer.

The winery and vineyard are located at the Green Family Farm just south of Garden, Michigan in the south central Upper Peninsula. The Threefold Vine Winery is now open for tours in 2007. Stop by and see how our wine is produced from the grapes growing in the vineyard, to harvesting, and processing the wine depending on the time of the year you visit.
