Thompsonville, Michigan

Thompsonville is home to Crystal Mountain Resort, offering excellent winter alpine and cross-country skiing in the winter and golfing and hiking in the summertime. Crystal Mountain draws visitors from nationwide. Population: 416. This village on the Betsie River lies in both Colfax and Weldon Townships. Sumner S. Thompson operated his Thompson Lumber Company to the south of here, but when the railroad came through he moved it here to be on the line and thus began the village named for him.
