Gould City was founded by Sam Stiles in 1886. The post office was established in 1888 and named after Mr. Gould the first commercial fisherman on Northern Lake Michigan. Adolph Highstone was the first Postmaster. Milakokia Lake : Walleye, Pike, Bass, Perch, Bluegill.
