One of the many U.P. lumber boom towns that have gone bust. Founded in 1886, and named for A. L. Fostter, the first postmaster who was superintendent for the A. M. Harmon Lumber Company. Today only a fraction of the houses remain. Foster City, 20 miles northeast of Iron Mountain, where G-69 meets M-69.
