Community Caring is a Christian service organization with a mission of “serving God and others by responding to the needs of people.” Since 1948, Community Caring has established primary physician services, a convalescent facility, a multi-level senior living campus, community resource development services, and in-home caregiving services in Oscoda County.
Community Caring currently operates three ministries:
- AuSable Valley Community (Community Caring’s “Flagship Ministry”)
AuSable Valley Community is a senior living community on a 90-acre campus located in Fairview, Michigan. The community, in operation since 1979, enhances quality of life for its residents by providing a caring, Christ-centered environment that includes independent living homes and apartments, assisted living services, and a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center.
- Christian Community Development
An all-volunteer Community Caring outreach made up of people from the local churches and communities. They work together to encourage spiritual transformation and develop Christ-centered solutions to help meet the many health and human service needs and issues of our area.
- Faith In Action: Community Caregivers
A Mio-based ministry of Community Caring that trains and matches volunteers from local churches and communities throughout the County to serve by helping meet the spiritual and in-home needs of the elderly and disabled. This vital network of caregivers that is based at our Christ-centered organization brings hope and encouragement, both to those who are serving and those who are being served.
Community Caring’s ministries employ over 130 staff members, making it the largest, non-seasonal, private employer based in Oscoda County. Our ministries also rely upon dozens of volunteer staff who are committed to “caring for their neighbors” in fulfillment of Christ’s mission (see Luke 10:36-37). If you would like to volunteer for one of Community Caring’s ministries or provide support to Oscoda County’s Christian health and human services organization in other ways, please call (989) 848-2843.
